Grounded in the knowledge that relationships provide meaning, comfort, and a sense of connectedness, the Chatham Day School Buddy Classes Program establishes formal partnerships between younger and older students within our community. The Buddy Classes Program builds upon our long-standing and welcome tradition of “pairing” classes for activities and special events which has been a long-standing and welcome tradition.

Buddy Classes engage in activities, games, lessons, or informal gatherings. At times, these special moments will occur because of more organized events on our calendar, such as Thanksgiving Gratitude Circles, Around the World Immersion Week, or Day of Service projects. At other times, Buddy Classes gather for more organic and less structured points of contact, such as a shared lunch or recess, a “partner-themed” dress-up day, or even a decorate-a-classroom day.
