We allow children to fall in love with learning and build confidence in a classroom, while expanding their mind beyond simply memorizing facts.
Peek into a Lower School classroom and you will quickly understand why we always hear parents say, “I wish school was like this when I was young!” Here, you will find students creating a grocery store to write lists and count money, others will be sitting with their teacher reading 1:1, and others will be creating windmills to harvest wind energy. Learning comes alive in our Lower School.
Our developmental philosophy centers around the principle that students grow and learn at unique paces during these formative years. We provide challenges where students are ready to stretch and grow, as well as support for areas that are still developing. While our academic program is ambitious and robust, our approach is through dedicated teachers delivering engaging academic lessons in a warm and nurturing environment.
Our whole-child approach includes daily physical education, co-curricular classes in the arts, and monthly school-wide Life Skills. Students participate in field trips, year-long service learning projects, weekly Lower School Morning Meetings, gardening, Spanish classes and so much more!
